How to install Android 4.2 ROM unofficially

Just a few days ago Google launched the new version of its Android Jelly Bean OS aka Android 4.2 with LG Nexus 4 Smartphone and Samsung Nexus 10 tablet. Manufacturers not going to roll out Android 4.2 ROM to their older devices even some high-end Smartphone users have to wait for the Android 4.2 official update, I know everyone is excited to get the latest Android OS updates, so there is only one option which is custom unofficial Android 4.2 ROM. Xda developers released Android Transformation Pack 4.2 which allows you to change your device beyond recognition!

Android 4.2 ROM unofficial

Android Transformation Pack 4.2 was posted on the XDA Developers Forum, and contains the following features:

 

  • Camera with Photo Sphere
  • Updated Gallery
  • Clock / stopwatch
  • Ringtones of Nexus 4
  • App Install (Phonesky.apk)
  • Launcher with new background images
  • Gmail
  • Google Ears
  • Lock screen Nexus 4 (without widgets)
  • Improved Google Now and Google Play

The developer warns that  Android 4.2 Transformation Pack can be installed on any Smartphone with Deodexed-ROM, starting with Android version 4.0.

Here is the brief instruction below:

  • Enable devices in Recovery
  • Back up your system
  • Set Transformation Pack, which you can pre-download from here
  • Clear the cache
Important: You need to be deodexed to use this mod!

If you’ve done all this, restart the device. There is no problem during installation of Android 4.2 ROM in Samsung Galaxy S3. If you are able to install Android 4.2 Transformation Pack, try to navigate to the / system and mount / data Recovery mode.
