In addition to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean announcement, Google at a conference I/O in San Francisco presented a tablet Google Nexus 7 manufactured by Taiwanese company Asus.
Google Nexus 7 tablet has 7-inch touch screen at a resolution of 1280*800 pixels. Google Nexus 7 is powered by powerful quad-core Tegra 3 and 1Gb of RAM.
Google Nexus 7 uses a new version of the operating system Android – 4.1, code-named Jelly Bean. The tablet produced for Google by Taiwanese company Asus.
Google Nexus 7 has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, short-range module NFC, front face camera, gyroscope and accelerometer. It weighs just 340 grams and can run on battery power for nine hours.
Google stresses that the device is intended for “consumption” of content from the online store Google Play, including not only software, but also books, music and videos (these sections are not yet available in all selected countries).
Google Nexus 7 is the first tablet on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, which has default internet browser Chrome. It comes with new versions of applications pre-installed Google Play, YouTube and “Maps.
The cheapest version of the Google Nexus 7 will cost 199 U.S. dollars. Deliveries of the tablet will start in mid-July. List of countries where you can buy a Google Nexus 7 tablet, has not been disclosed.
